7 Ways the Armor of God Can Protect Your Children Right Now

7 Ways the Armor of God Can Protect Your Children Right Now

During these uncertain times, we believe that if our children aren’t being prepared, then they are unprepared. As parents, we feel like it is crucial to equip our children (and ourselves) with the armor of God.

In Ephesians 6:13-17, the Apostle Paul writes: “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”
To help our children understand the armor of God, we have a great activity that will teach our children how it can help us during difficult times. It will also help build a firm foundation for our children's faith. To make this fun and memorable for your child(ren), you can download the coloring sheet and bookmarks to help you explain each of the pieces of armor to your child(ren).

Here Are Seven Ways the Armor of God Can Protect Your Family Right Now:

  1. The Belt of Truth protects our will. Satan fights with lies, but believers have God’s truth to protect them.
  2. The Breastplate of Righteousness protects our hearts. Satan attacks our hearts, emotions, self-worth, and trust. He accuses us of being unworthy, but we know we are forgiven and accepted by faith.
  3. The Feet Fitted With Readiness makes us available and ready to spread the good news! The enemy wants us to think that telling others the good news is a hopeless task, but everything is possible with God!
  4. The Shield of Faith protects us from setbacks and temptation. We are protected by our hope in Christ.
  5. The Helmet of Salvation protects our minds. Our helmet identifies a soldier’s allegiance as a member of God’s army. The enemy wants us to doubt God, Jesus, and our salvation.
  6. The Sword of the Spirit protects us from Satan’s lies as we seek the Holy Spirit.
  7. The Word of God is trustworthy. When tempted to follow the world, we can trust in the truth of God’s Word.

We hope this has been a helpful resource and a fun way to teach your children about God’s truth and power. We are praying for each of you during this time and praying that God’s armor would protect you and your little ones during this time!
