Discussion Questions What’s a project or dream you had to set aside because life got busy? How often do you think about it now, and what would it take to resurrect and pursue it? Michael Jordan said: “I can accept failure; everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying. I’ve always believed that if you put in the work, results will come. I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed…If you’re trying to achieve, there will be roadblocks. I’ve had them; everybody has them. But obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.” What an inspiring quote (and a unique mindset)! What are some failures/ obstacles in your life that have ultimately shaped you into becoming a better person today? Jeff said that sometimes the best thing to do with a project or a dream is to stop pursuing it. Have you experienced that reality in your life, or sat in front of someone who was working through it? What was that like for you? What are some good questions to ask (and to avoid) if we face something similar in the future? Jeff ended by giving each of us an assignment. He asked us to pick one goal, one project, or one area of life in which we would love to be highly successful. It could be our own life with God, or a relationship like friendship, marriage, or family. Share about your goal, what you’ll do this week to get one step closer to that goal/project, and what the group can do to help keep you accountable.
