  • On a scale of 1-10, how much of a “control freak” are you? Has this number changed throughout your life?
  • Where or in what area of your life do you feel most out of control? Why?
  • Read together Psalm 57. What words or phrases stand out to you? Why?

  • How do you process God being completely in control when terrible things happen? Has there been a time when this was especially confusing to you? How did it affect your faith?
  • Jeff said, “It’s not that God causes every bad thing that happens, but He does filter what happens to us with His purposes in mind. He takes the awful things that happen in a broken world and works them out for good in our lives.” Have you found this to be true? If so, share about a time that happened.
  • What is one of your biggest worries right now? Share it with the group. How does knowing God as El Elyon help you navigate those worries?
