How To Be a Christian at Work

September 2022

Discuss Together

  • In your opinion, why is it hard to talk about your faith or religion in general with people who think differently than you? Are there things that make it uniquely challenging in a workplace environment?
  • Jeff talked about the difference between “push” and “pull.” Push is when we try to force people to believe what we belief. Pull is when we try to create curiosity about how we live. How have you seen both play out as you’ve observed Christ-followers at work, school, or in your neighborhood?
  • How good do you think you are at creating “pull” with those in your life who don’t know Jesus? Where do you have room to grow?
  • Read 1 Peter 3:15-16. If someone asked you about your faith, how confident are you in sharing about Jesus? What have you learned when it comes to talking about it?
  • What are some of the moments or conversations when you’ve found people are open to talking about faith? What have you learned about intentionally interjecting something about Jesus or faith in those moments?
  • Who are some people in your life who don’t know Jesus? How can your group be praying for them?

Next Steps

This fall, the Chase Oaks Roadshow is visiting each of our campuses. During a three-week period on Sundays, experts, pastors, and leaders will bring to each location conversations and content about issues of faith and life. One of these sessions, Sharing Your Story, will help you talk about faith with those who don’t know Jesus. The Roadshow will visit Sloan Creek and Woodbridge on September 18, 25, and October 2. It will then go to Legacy, Woodbridge, and En Español on October 30, November 6, and 13. To find out more about the Roadshow, go to chaseoaks.org/roadshow.
