Do you remember the first time you attended Chase Oaks? Who or what caused you to come? Twenty years ago, our church embarked on the Imagine project – a bold step that provided for the building that is now the Legacy Campus. How do you think our area has shifted over the past 20 years? How do you think attitudes have changed about church, faith, and God? How should this change the way we think as a church? In John 4, we get a glimpse into how Jesus approached a pre-Christian culture. Read John 4:3-9. Make some observations about how Jesus interacted with this woman (an encounter which eventually led to her beginning a relationship with God). How did Jesus remove barriers and obstacles for her? Jesus met the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s Well, a place that was in the regular rhythm of her life. What are some of today’s Jacob’s Wells for people who don’t have church as a normal part of their routine? Jeff described some of the Jacob’s Wells we’re trying to create with the Reimagine project (coffee shops, childcare centers, pickleball courts, dog parks, a chapel). Did one of these aspects of the project particularly resonate with you? Share with the group. Read John 4:35. It’s easy to get discouraged as culture changes. Despite the changes, where do you see God at work? How is the harvest ripe today? Who are the “church adjacent” people that God has brought into your life? What is one step, one conversation, one act of love, or one invitation you feel you could make to help them connect with God?
