Why or why not? Life has both the ugly and beautiful. When ugly hits, we often don’t know what to do. When you don’t know what to do, what do you do? Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.” What season are you in? To follow up, have you ever resisted moving on from a season God was trying to transition you out of? What happened? Do you tend to focus more on what is ugly or what is beautiful? If you keep going with what this focus, what will be some of the results? Imagine yourself five years down the road. What do you hope your future self would say about how you handled the season you are now in? What is something from a past season that you are holding on to? Ryan spoke of “navigating other people’s seasons.” How important is it to recognize the season other people are in as it regards to how you relate to them? Ryan mentioned three things to do with the ugly/beautiful seasons we experience: Measure the seasons Navigate the seasons Maximize the seasons.Which is the most difficult for you and why?Read Ecclesiastes 3:1. This means that every season, even the ugly ones, have something beautiful in them. Still, the truth of this might fly out the window when the ugly hits. What is one of your burdens and what is something beautiful that could come out of it (even if it is not good in and of itself)? Read 1 Corinthians 7:17. Ryan said, “The difference between a situation and an assignment is perspective. If it’s a situation, you’re a victim. If it’s an assignment, you’re on a mission.” Give an example from your life of where you felt like a victim. How could you have looked at it differently if you thought of it as part of your mission? Read Ecclesiastes 5:18-20. Are you forgetting to enjoy the best things life has to offer? If your answer is yes, what is a small step you can take to enjoy life more and how important is it that you take this step?
