Stop The Madness

Posted by Jack Warren, Executive Pastor, on Oct 07, 2020

Stop The Madness

Black lives, blue lives, all lives; standing or kneeling; Republican or Democrat; Trump or Biden; mail or in-person; masks or no masks; socially distant or together; online school or in-person learning; murder charge or self-defense; vaccine or no vaccine.

These are just a few of the important things that divide us. I am pondering another option these days, related to an even more important cause: kindness, gentleness, and grace, or alienation, harsh judgment, and unattractiveness. I am trying (though sometimes failing) to play the long game and not the short game. As a Christ-follower, I am needing to remember my primary mission.

There are many worthy causes we need to address, but they should not lead me to neglect or forget “the” cause: light of the world, salt of the earth, city on a hill, love above all other gifts.

I’m going to set a goal for 30 days of grace-filled kindness—and hopefully be a refreshing presence for people in this season of fear, frenzy, harshness, and attack.
