Community Mural Celebrates the Children of Fairview, Allen, and McKinney


Artists' Statement

"As we considered the communities that Chase Oaks’ Sloan Creek Campus serves (primarily the towns of Fairview, Allen, and McKinney), a couple of themes came to mind. First, it’s clear that children are a priority. The schools in the area are great, and there is a lot of emphasis on raising up the next generation well. Second, we love the natural beauty of the creek behind the church. We were intrigued by the way Sloan Creek runs through each of the different towns that this campus serves, tying these distinct communities together.

As artists, we have several hopes for this mural. First, we hope it represents the heartbeat of Chase Oaks Church well. Even more importantly, we hope this mural can spark joy and appreciation for a wide group of people as they travel down Stacy Rd., regardless of their spiritual journey or background. Finally, we really hope that those who see this mural feel like it’s a beautiful piece of art that they are proud to have in their community." — Lindsay Zodrow, Dusty Gilpin, and Carlos Barboza
